2008 Board of Commissioners
The Board of Commissioners is the legislative body of Monroe County and performs a number of specific administrative duties such as determining the amount of funds to be levied in the form of Property Taxes for operation of county government, review and adoption of the budget, establishing policies for operation, maintenance and control of county buildings and other property, operation of departments which are subject to the Board's managing control and performance of other statutory ministerial duties.

MEETING SCHEDULE

  1. The meetings of the Board of Commissioners are held in the Board Chambers on the First Floor of the County Office Building Addition, 125 East Second Street, Monroe.
  2. Regular Meetings -  2nd, and 4th Tuesday of each month at7:00 p.m., with an option to meet the 1st, 3rd or 5th Tuesday of any particular month.
  3. Committee Meetings - All Committees will meet as necessary or at the call of the Chairperson of the Committee.

DISTRICT 1:  Commissioner Henry Lievens

The City of Milan (Monroe County portion), Milan Township, the Village of Dundee*,
that portion of Dundee Township west of the Ann Arbor Railroad and north of M-50,
that portion of Dundee Township west of Wells Road and south of M-50,
the City of Petersburg, Summerfield Township, and Whiteford Township.

DISTRICT 2:  Commissioner Dale Zorn

London Township, Raisinville Township, Ida Township, that portion of Dundee Township east of the Ann Arbor Railroad and north of M-50 (but not including the Village of Dundee*), that portion of Dundee Township east of Wells Road and south of M-50 (but not including the Village of Dundee*), the Village of Maybee, and that portion of Exeter Township south of Stony Creek.

DISTRICT 3:  Commissioner Albert Potratz

Ash Township and the Village of Carleton, Berlin Charter Township and the Villages of Estral Beach and South Rockwood, and that portion of Exeter Township north of Stony Creek.

DISTRICT 4:  Commissioner Floreine Mentel

That portion of Frenchtown Charter Township lying north and east of a line starting at the intersection of Raisinville Township and Little Sandy Creek, then east following Little Sandy Creek to Reinhardt Road, then north on Reinhardt Road to LaSalle Road, then east on LaSalle Road to North Monroe Street (M-125), and then south on North Monroe Street (M-125) to the City of Monroe boundary line.

DISTRICT 5:  Commissioner William Sisk

That portion of the City of Monroe north of the River Raisin and that portion of Frenchtown Charter Township lying south and west of a line starting at the intersection of Raisinville Township and Little Sandy Creek, then east on Little Sandy Creek to Reinhardt Road, then north on Reinhardt Road to LaSalle Road, then east on LaSalle Road to North Monroe Street (M-125), then south on North Monroe Street (M-125) to the City of Monroe boundary line.

DISTRICT 6:  Commissioner Jerry Oley

That portion of the City of Monroe south of the River Raisin, that portion of Frenchtown Charter Township south of the River Raisin,and that portion of Monroe Charter Township lying north of Dunbar Road and west of I-75.

DISTRICT 7:  Commissioner John Fowler

That portion of Monroe Charter Township lying south of Dunbar Road and east of  I-75, LaSalle Township,the City of Luna Pier, and that portion of Erie Township north of Erie Road and east of Suder Avenue.

DISTRICT 8:  Commissioner Connie Velliquette

That portion of Bedford Township east of Jackman Road, and that portion of Erie Township south of Erie Road and west of Suder Avenue.

DISTRICT 9:  Commissioner LaMar Frederick

That portion of Bedford Township west of Jackman Road.
